Warning signs that cannot wait
Breathing difficulty, seizures, loss of consciousness, accident, fall, bite, bleeding, intense pain, repeated vomiting, swollen abdomen or sudden weakness require an immediate call.
Noisy or labored breathing, blue, grey or very pale gums, extreme weakness or a sudden behavior change may indicate poor oxygenation, shock or significant pain. Internal injuries can still be present after a fall or collision even when the pet is able to stand.
What to explain by phone
Share the species, age, approximate weight, symptoms, when they started, any medicine already given and your area: Bourgogne, Anfa, Maârif, Racine, Ain Diab or another Greater Casablanca district.
During the call, keep the pet calm and limit handling. Use a carrier, a thick blanket or a rigid surface for transport depending on the animal’s size and condition. Mention unusual aggression because pain can change an animal’s behavior.
What to avoid
Do not give human medication without veterinary advice, do not force water, and do not delay travel if breathing, consciousness or pain are involved.
During a seizure, move dangerous objects away but keep your hands clear of the mouth. If poisoning is possible, keep the packaging or photograph the product and note the likely time and amount. Do not induce vomiting unless a veterinary professional tells you to do so.
